Monterey Bay Knives MANA BEAST – Yeah…It’s THAT Good!

The Monterey Bay Knives Mana Beast absolutely lives up to its name! In this video, we’re taking a close look at the latest MBK release, a Sanford Owen design that has quickly become one of my favorite Monterey Bay Knives to hit the channel. With contoured titanium handles, ZDP-189 blade steel, ceramic bearings, and one seriously striking blade design, the Mana Beast brings premium materials and fantastic execution together in one impressive EDC knife.
The star of the show for me is that elongated drop-point blade. The dual-fuller design gives the Mana Beast a distinctive look, while the satin finish, generous belly, long cutting edge, and extensive jimping make the blade every bit as functional as it is good-looking. Deployment comes via dual thumb studs or the fuller for a satisfying reverse flick, and the ceramic-bearing action is excellent.
The contoured titanium handle features a titanium backspacer with cross-hatching, an inset liner lock with excellent access, and a right-hand, tip-up titanium pocket clip. At approximately 7.5 inches overall with a 3.25-inch blade and weighing around 4.1 ounces, the Mana Beast manages to feel substantial without becoming overly bulky. Fit and finish on this overseas-produced MBK is outstanding, and the subtle curvature of the handle makes it extremely comfortable in hand.
