This $39 Button Lock Is Better Than Expected! | TROCK Knife Review

Today we’re checking out the TROCK G10 Button Lock folding knife—the second of two TROCK knives sent to the channel for review. Priced around $38–$39 on Amazon, this budget EDC knife features textured green G10 scales, a blackwashed D2 steel blade, dual thumb studs, open construction, a button lock, and a low-profile pocket clip.
The roughly 7.75-inch knife has a 3.25-inch modified sheepsfoot-style blade, approximately 3 inches of cutting edge, a 4.5-inch handle, and a weight of 4.2 ounces. The action is smooth, although there is a small amount of button stick that may improve as the black blade coating wears in. Fit and finish are solid for the price, with nicely chamfered edges, good centering, useful G10 texturing, and comfortable overall ergonomics.
There are a few things to consider. The pocket clip is right-hand, tip-up only, sits fairly tight, and is not deep carry, so a noticeable portion of the knife remains above the pocket. The thumb studs may also slightly enter the sharpening path, and one of the finger grooves creates a minor pressure point in my grip. None of these issues are deal-breakers, but competition is strong in the under-$40 budget knife category.
Overall, the TROCK G10 Button Lock earns a solid B. It isn’t especially flashy, but it appears to be a well-built, dependable budget pocket knife with good materials and respectable performance for less than $40.
