The Artisan Cutlery Simoon With Recoil Lock V2!
Today we take a close look at the Artisan Cutlery “Simon,” a mid-size knife offered in several variations, including this black G10 PVD-coated version. The standout feature is its recoil lock version 2, though I prefer using it strictly as a thumb stud and crossbar lock. The knife delivers solid ergos, great grip from the textured G10, and strong fit and finish, but its cutting performance on rope testing fell short of expectations despite the blade’s aggressive shape and belly. Overall, it’s a well-built, comfortable knife with unique design choices, though the recoil lock and edge performance leave room for improvement.
