SHOCKING SPYDERCO HEAT TREAT RESULTS !!
Published: 9 months ago
Today we test the heat treat on Three spyderco knives.
first, we test the Mule Team 33p in Rex 76. This Spyderco is a fixed blade produced in Taichung Taiwan. I've had very good success with the performance of this blade and I expect the heat treat will be just fine.
second, is a spyderco that I haven't had great success with. the Edge retention on this Golden Colorado produced, DLT Para Miltary 2 in cpm-s90v , has been less than stellar. I may have a one off spyderco here. I'm not bashing, and I understand mistakes happen. To put it in perspective , my ontario rat in s35vn out cuts this s90v 2 to 1. The same could be said for both my Cold Steel AD15 and AD10. both in s35vn. (I no longer own the AD10)
last, but certainly not least , from Seki City Japan we will test the Spyderco Endura 4 in VG10.
We appreciate Jed Hornbeak for allowing us to use his Rockwell Tester. I promise that we'll get our very own Hardness tester soon.
if you're still reading , may I suggest Sylvia Plath, J.D. Salinger, or perhaps Philip Roth for more great reading material.
