In the shop: Making a Hellraiser Mini
Published: 2 years ago
In a 3 part series, I’ll take you along with me as I make a Hellraiser Mini from raw billet to final edge.
This is NOT an instructional, how-to video. I gloss over several areas quickly, some work isn’t even going to be recorded, to reduce the length of these videos. This is just a series to give you a basic idea of the work that goes into making a custom knife, and some of the things that I do, while I explain why I do them the way I do.
This is part 1, where we start with a raw billet of stainless steel and try to make it somewhat shaped like a knife. We will go through cutting out the blank, grinding it down to shape, drilling it, surface grinding, surface prep and heat treating.
