Dalton Jackal D/A Media
Published: 13 years ago
The Dalton Jackal is the second D/A (Dual Action) design ever produced by any maker that powers out with a coil fired mechanism. Other dual action knives made to date, many custom made and several factory, have been leaf spring fired similar to Microtech's Lightfoot D/A or Colt's M16 model. The complexity of this mechanism has kept it away from the other makers for an amazing five years since the initial production of the Microtech SOCOM D/A beggining in 1997 and ending in 1999. These new Dalton's have a semi concealed lift-to-fire tab release for the auto action feature. Lock release is via the liner lock. Blade speed is of course above average fast as with all Dalton knives we offer and the finish is really superb on these with a unique checker pattern for grip, anodized color as shown and the unmistakably Dalton pocket clip contoured to flow with the handle's shape. In addition this model debuts Dalton's newly devised pivot screw system (the nickle sized disks on both sides of the knife's visable pivot area.) These oversized custom made stainless steel screws dubbed "pivot disks" are easy to adjust or fully lock with thumb torque and are such a neat feature that we expect to see them on many more knives in the future replacing the the standard pivot screws that are on all but two designs.
