Presenting the Herman Knives blade with engraving done by master Monthep Chimwai, we delve into a world where technical perfection meets mythical depth. The blade, made of the highest quality Swedish Damasteel Damascus steel, displays the Odins Eye pattern on Damacore® DC21R™, with an RWL34™ core flanked by layers of RWL34™ and PMC27™, offering incredible strength and sharpness, achieving a hardness of 61 HRC.
Its mirror-polished finish not only dazzles but also enables precise cuts, embodying a fusion of art and functionality. This is not only a testament to masterful craftsmanship but also an expression of the deep symbolism that permeates the entire knife design.
On the handle, backspacer, and titanium clip, the master engraver has conjured the vision of the Slavic Lady Midday – a beautiful yet terrifying entity that, according to legend, at the peak of the midday sun, scouts for victims during harvests in Polish and other Slavic fields. On the other side of the handle is a ghastly scarecrow, guardian of the fields. These two figures are not only rich in detail but also in symbolism: gold elements – 24-karat gold symbolizing power, 18-karat rose gold reflecting horror, and 18-karat green gold portraying the toils of life – add depth to the entire creation.
The Lady Midday, a demon of the noon, represents the mortal danger of the scorching sun, and the injustice it brings in bringing death to the innocents toiling in the fields. The presented work is also a subtle reference to the legendary monster hunter – the Witcher, a character created by Andrzej Sapkowski. In the Witcher universe, the Lady Midday becomes one of the wraiths the Witcher must defeat to save the innocent from the phantom of a terrible death.
The scarecrow, in turn, symbolizes human fears and ingenuity in the fight against the forces of nature. Together, they weave a tale of life and death, work and rest, fear and bravery, serving as a reminder of the constant struggle between man and nature.
This unique knife, full of magic and mystery, is packed in a dedicated wooden box and sheath from Robbins Custom Cases, highlighting its exclusive nature. It is a work of art and a tool in one, carrying echoes of ancient stories and legends, perfect for connoisseurs and collectors.
