The Grand Block: Bronze, Granite & Damascus Steel — 8 Months in the Making | New West KnifeWorks Media
Published: 3 hours ago
There's a mountain in Wyoming that doesn't apologize for its height. We named a knife block after it.
The Grand Block is the most ambitious piece New West KnifeWorks has ever built — raw bronze cast against a slab of granite too large to cut in one pass, paired with five custom Damascus knives forged to match its shape. It took eight months, four failed castings, and three makers who refused to call it close enough.
Watch the full build, from raw granite to finished summit — then read the whole story and place your bid before the auction closes.
