This week we’re highlighting a company that leads the industry in producing functionally innovative gear, head to toe. These are the products of 5.11 Tactical.
What’s great about 5.11 is the sheer number of different products across the brand, offering customers a one-stop shop for all their gear needs.
The first product we’re going to look at is the LMC Modified Clip Point folder. The three-and-a-quarter inch blade is made from AUS 8 steel with a great Blade-Tech V-hole for easy deployment, as well as a finger choil and some jimping that allows you to choke up on the blade. The FRN-scale handle is very light and features a reversible pocket clip and a liner lock design.
The Wharn Surge is a compact fixed blade offering with a MOLLE-compatible sheath that can easily attach to your pack or tactical vest. The blade is AUS 8 steel with a grey PVD coating. Great shape in the handle and contoured G10 scales makes the knife very comfortable in-hand, and inserting and removing the blade from the sheath feels very secure.
Moving on to accessories, there are tactical LED flashlights like this one which can provide over 100 lumens of light for nearly an hour at their highest setting. It is also impact and water resistant, and comes with a break-away lanyard and pocket clip.
If that’s too bright for you, you can cut down on glare with these Burner Full Frame Polarized sunglasses. Built in partnership with Wiley X Eyewear, these glasses protect against UVA and UVB light without distorting the color spectrum. The frame is tough TR-90 nylon. Comes with a molded case and a cleaning bag.
Finally, the All Hazards Prime backpack is more than capable of hauling all your tactical gear. It has a capacity of nearly 1800 cubic inches, a dedicated hydration compartment, and hi-vis orange main compartments for low-light identification. More on this item tomorrow.
Overall, 5.11 Tactical offers a variety of products to help you perform your best, regardless of the situation.
