The Roc was Panchenko’s first ever collaboration with Spyderco and the pairing has yielded a pretty exciting, unique result.
Blade is deployed of course via the trademark Spyderco round hole, and you see instantly upon deployment what really sets this model apart from its Spyderco compatriots. The unique cleaver style blade comes in just over three inches and is made of VG-10 stainless steel. I’m always a fan of steel with a bead-blast finish like we have here. Blade is held securely in place via Spyderco’s Walker liner-lock mechanism.
Handle sports a graceful curve that makes for great handling ergonomics. The full stainless steel liners are skeletonized, and that in combination with the open spine handle construction makes this really nice and lightweight. Finally, the textured G-10 scales provide an assured grip.
This model features a deep-carry style wire pocketclip. It’s reversible, allowing for your choice of left or right side, tip-up carry. This is one of our favorite pocketclips for its strength and low-profile design.
The Spyderco Roc is a great workhorse of a folder with the build quality you expect from Spyderco and that outside-the-box Panchenko design flair.
