---------------------

This weekend our special is the Schrade Extreme Survival fixed blade, a well-designed and multi-functional knife. This was a wildly popular model for us right up until it was discontinued last year, and we were lucky enough to be able to get one more big batch of them.

This is a big, beefy son of a gun, and the major selling point is just how ergonomic it is. The handle shape is about as good as it gets in a production fixed blade, with the back filling the contours of the hand beautifully and the index finger indent giving you a nice sense of control. The heavily textured micarta scales and ample jimping all around the handle facilitate a very confident no-slip grip and excellent precision cutting performance.

The blade is a sizable 5.3", in a drop-point shape that has both a lot of belly and a lot of recurve, which makes it great for serious slicing tasks. It has a non-reflective black powder coating that will help it resist wear and corrosion. Between that and the micarta this is a nice knife for use in wet conditions. The Extreme Survival has a really solid full-tang construction, with a thick tang that terminates in a lanyard hole, which handily doubles as a crushing tool.

The sheath included with the knife is a durable ballistic nylon with a velcro strap to make sure the knife stays stowed securely. As a bonus the sheath sports a nice little pocket to let you carry any small accessories you may want out in the wilderness with you, like a sharpening stone or Ferro rod.

All-in-all Schrade's Extreme Survival fixed blade is a really robust and ergonomic knife with a super affordable price point, and we're excited to be able to offer them to you once again. You can click the annotation or the link in the description to learn more about this knife, and don't forget to check back every week for our Weekend Special. Thanks for watching from the KnifeCenter, serving the web community since 1995.
