This time on Steal of the Week we're highlighting one of our lesser-known brands, EKA Knives. EKA was founded in 1882 in Eskiltuna, Sweden, which back in the early 20th century was a major hub for knife making and hosted over 40 factories. That may no longer be the case, but EKA has managed to stay in the game by virtue of their unique aesthetic and high quality manufacturing.

The thing I love the most about EKA is the really wide range of products they have to offer. What I've assembled here is just a small sampling, they also have machetes, axes, sharpeners, as well as other fixed blade and folder designs. Even if you take a look at just their folding knives there's some great variety to be had.

On the smaller end is the attractive Classic 5, a gentleman's folder with some sleek turn-of-the-century style. Moving up in size you have the Swede 88, a Bushcraft style knife with a Walnut handle and classic Scandi ground drop point. This one is a lockback with a large lanyard hole and nylon pouch. My personal favorite is the Swede 92, which is just a great all-around knife. You've got a grippy black Dryflex handle with a super ergonomic shape and 3.43" of blade, so it makes for a perfect EDC. I'm also a fan of the patented locking mechanism, this modified lockback that you see here.

Fortunately for you fixed-blade lovers EKA is no slouch in that department either. I'm a sucker for designs like the Nordic A10, a classically-styled fixed blade with Masur Birch or Rosewood handles, a sturdy full-tang construction, and a beautiful leather sheath. They also offer an excellent line of kitchen knives, the Butcher series, with a whole host of different blade styles and durable, hygienic Santoprene handles.

Personally though, my absolute favorite EKA product isn't even a knife. I'm a huge fan of the Viking Combi-Saw, which folds down to an ultra-low profile, while still being easy to assemble and offering a sturdy cutting solution. The Combi-Saw has three different blades, one for wood, one for metal, and one for meat, and they're all integrated directly in the handle so you don't have to worry about losing them.

As you can see, there's a ton of great stuff available from EKA, and we've only really scratched the surface here. You can click the annotation or the link in the description to see the full range of EKA products available, and don't forget to check back every Wednesday for new episodes of Steal of the Week. Thanks for watching from the KnifeCenter, serving the web community since 1995!
