Cold Steel has built quite the reputation over the years, not only doing modern riffs on classic knife designs but also creating some of the high performance knives that have the durability of a tank. Click here to learn more about Cold Steel: https://bit.ly/2TjdaLa
Here at KnifeCenter we have spent plenty of time stress testing their products and every time they’ve been ready to come back for more. A big reason for this is that Cold Steel keeps a very tactical approach when they are looking at design and materials. As a result, every time you take a Cold Steel knife out of the box you know you’re getting a knife that is meant to be used.
Take for example this Code 4 spear point folding knife. It’s constructed with an S35VN stainless steel blade, aluminum handle scales, and it utilizes Cold Steel’s world-renowned Tri-Ad lock which was designed by Andrew Demko to be one of the strongest locking mechanisms on the planet. This folder is as rugged as they come and while it may be one of Cold Steel’s more simple designs, the slim profile and light weight makes this knife ideal for everyday carry. For a company that prides itself on their overbuilt designs, it’s nice to see them applying that same quality into a sleeker package.
Taking a look at their spin on classic designs we have knives like the Leatherneck SF fixed blade knife. This piece of tactical equipment features a full tang construction made from a German D2 tool steel for maximum durability, and the blade has a scratch-resistant powder coating.
For added protection the Leatherneck features a solid steel guard to keep the fingers from sliding forward, offering minimal interference when performing utility tasks. The handles are made of deeply checkered Griv-Ex that totally encompasses the Leatherneck’s extra wide, full tang, offering excellent gripping power, and the handle is capped with a machined steel butt cap making it a viable option for striking or hammering with the pommel. All these elements put together make for a combat knife that not only looks the part but has all the performance elements worthy of a Cold Steel knife.
