If you are looking for a small, elegant EDC flipper then look no further than the Spyderco Rubicon 2. Designed by custom knife maker Peter Carey, the Rubicon 2 is a more slimline and paired-down version of the original with the same high performance materials, signature design, and stylish looks.
The blade is the same powerful, hollow ground, CPM S30V drop point recurve that was built to slice. The handles have switched from the eye-catching, high-polish contoured carbon fiber to a more subtle but utilitarian peel-ply carbon fiber/G10 laminate. This material still looks great but makes the in-pocket footprint smaller while increasing the in-hand security.
The orange pivot collar and custom hardware have been dropped for a standard Torx pivot giving it a more subdued look. The bright orange G10 backspacer was retained but made flush with the thick titanium liners. The custom-style clip was replaced with the standard Spyderco "Hourglass" clip, set-up for tip-up (reversible) carry making the Rubicon 2 a perfect option for ambidextrous carry.
