DPx Gear is back with their first USA Made folder, the Urban H.E.S.T. This is a more compact version of the H.E.S.T., or Hostile Environment Survival Tool, folder. The Urban HEST has a similar build with a titanium frame lock foundation and a robust blade stock making this knife a serious cutting tool. The blade on the Urban H.E.S.T. is made from hollow ground 154cm for a great combination of wear and corrosion resistance, toughness, and ease of sharpening. The blade is black DLC coated for enhanced corrosion resistance. The titanium frame lock is also DLC coated giving this knife a fully black color pallet with the coarse black G10 handle scale and matching black hardware. The subdued color pallet and deep carry pocket clip make this knife very discrete for carry and use.
The Urban H.E.S.T. also features a stainless steel bearing pivot for exceptionally fast and smooth deployment of the blade and a hardened steel lock face insert for flawless lock bar operation and rock solid lock up. The hollow grind on the blade gives this knife better slicing performance over the standard saber grind making it more practical for every day carry and use. As with the original H.E.S.T. the Urban also has a hardened steel glass breaker end, bottle opener notch, and three gauge wire stripper jimping on the blade.
