The Reate Knives K-1 was originally introduced as a prototype. Now that is has been put into production it is just as fine in fit and finish and the design is impeccable.

The harpoon style blade is available in M390, RWL34, or Damasteel with a shallow hollow grind that give the K-1 superb slicing and piercing performance.

RWL34 is similar to CPM-154: it has good corrosion resistance and toughness, great edge holding, takes a fine edge and is relatively easy to sharpen. The blade is available in three finished: bi-directional satin, hand rubbed, and stonewashed. This is an all-around great steel for a folding knife. Damasteel has a similar performance to RWL34 with the added beauty of a pattern welded steel.

M390 delivers optimal edge retention and corrosion resistance with a reduction in toughness and more difficulty in sharpening.

The blade rides on a ceramic bearing pivot and has glass smooth and lightening quick deployment via the integral flipper tab. The ceramic ball detent on the frame lock has been dialed to perfection.

The handles are made from milled and contoured titanium for a comfortable and secure grip and sweeping carbon fiber (marbled or standard) or Mokuti inlays add a classy, eye-catching visual element.

The K-1 carries via a 3D milled titanium pocket clip with black ceramic tension ball set up for right hand, tip-up carry. Check it out now at GPKnives.com.
