Jonathan McNees started building knives with an extension cord and a grinder in his garage. Now he's a name everyone in the EDC world should know with a Spyderco collaboration under his belt and a production lineup we can't keep on the shelves.

We've been close with Jonathan and Amy McNees since the very beginning, back when Jonathan was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran working full-time as a physical therapy assistant and running knife lotteries at shows on weekends. We've watched this brand grow from one guy in a garage to a family-run operation putting out some of the most respected USA-made folders in the industry, and we wanted to share their story with the EKnives Family.
