Rings on Knives - What is the reasoning? Media
Published: 5 years ago
We all have that "Knife Expert" friend that will advise against ringed blades. But why? The common reason is so fingers cannot be broken or de-gloved. Let us debunk both of those reasons right now. If someone grabs the blade of your knife and attempts to break your finger, Your blade isn't sharp enough and you are looking at a much worse outcome than a broken finger. With that logic, I suppose your finger is susceptible to breaking while it's buried in the Trigger Guard of a firearm as well... Think practically when answering this question, no one wants to lose their blade in a fight. Keep it attached, keep both hands in the fight, and keep yourself safe. The Pros of ringed knives heavily outweigh the Cons.
