A lot of people have heard the term "razor sharp". A razor sharp edge will effortlessly remove facial hair or arm hair for example. Razor blades and straight razors need to be this sharp to work properly. Knives on the other hand are rarely sharpened to this level.

Factory made knives are generally shipped with a "toothy" edge created with a very coarse grit abrasive. While this seems to work well for cutting, it is really morel like using a miniature saw. To achieve a razor sharp edge a blade must be sharpened on a much finer grit to refine the edge. All North Arm knives are hand sharpened on water stones up to 4000 grit!

To demonstrate the sharpness of North Arm's products Co-owner/operator Michael Gudmundson has decided to shave his face with a Trillium paring knife!

Keep in mind Michael has never shaved using a knife or straight razor before, just a good old safety razor until now!

Don't try this yourself as it is Quite dangerous.
