40+ Years and Still Going Strong Media

At Leatherman, we love to innovate on new multi-tool designs, but there's something about a classic. Some tools in our lineup have stayed true to the original and have become fan favorites. In this video, we'll discuss why this multi-tool style has stood the test of time.
Leatherman fans are familiar with the Pocket Survival Tool (PST), the original multi-tool designed in 1983 by Tim Leatherman himself. Today, we refer to this style of multi-tool design as the box-style. When you open it up, the handles act like toolboxes, housing everything on the inside. Although we've launched a variety of new multi-tools since the PST, a few in our lineup have stayed true to the classic design: the Bond, Rebar, and Super Tool 300.

Let's dive into these and discuss why they are some of our most popular multi-tools. All the tools are stored inside the multi-tool, keeping it exceptionally compact and smooth. To access the tools, you open it up and remove what you're looking for. Each model has a handy ruler on the outside for quick measurements and large cutouts for easier access to the knife blade while wearing gloves.
