60 DAYS OF UPDATES: DAY 33
WOODEN BOX SHIPPING
A few times over the last couple of years we have had some situations where we ship long blades and they arrive with damaged tips during shipping. No good at all!
We looked into why this occurred and it basically comes down to very rough handling during shipping. If the blade gets dropped on its tip with these skinny, long, heavy blades it can push down very hard, break through the packaging and bend the tip severly.
To fix this we have started shipping our longest blades in wooden boxes that are custom made to suit that exact blade. This is much harder to break and allows us to secure the blade down to the wood itself to eliminate movement :)
Stay tuned for more updates!
