Notching steel tube on cnc mill Media
Published: 13 years ago
Here's an old vid I found from 2009 that I meant to post earlier. I am notching a 5/8" dia steel tube to fit perfectly onto a 1" dia tube for welding, this is for an automotive M90 shifter for Volvos. Using a circular pocket code that I wrote using the Mach3 wizards, it zips through this part in no time. I'm feeding at 30ipm with a 0.010" stepover. It takes 12 passes with very light fast cuts. Climb milling. Can't remember the rpm, I probably just adjusted it until it sounded right.
