Knifemaking Tuesdays Week 04 - machining the first pair of handles! Media
Published: 13 years ago
Tons of progress today! In week 4 of my knifemaking project I got to make the first set of my handles! Started with 3/16" 6061 aluminum I machined them down to 0.180". I've designed it to use a super beefy 1/4" pivot and a pair of super duper beefy roller bearings. Near the end of the video I made some aluminum standoffs on my cnc lathe, tumbled the handles for 18 hours with my green pyramids, then assembled it. Next week: blades!
