Emerson Dragon Scales machining video Media
Published: 12 years ago
I'm going to walk you through most of the steps I take to machine a few pairs of Emerson CQC-7 handles. Starting with a large piece of 1/8" 6061 T6 aluminum plate, I first machine the back of the parts for some clearance holes and to reduce the weight by 25%, making them the same weight as the G10 scales they will replace. Then I flip the plate over and do a series of machining operations on the top of the parts.
Some parts of this video have been sped up 8x, it's a shame my machine doesn't actually cut that fast!
