Heat anodizing titanium and engraving Media
Published: 12 years ago
This is from a few weeks ago when I engraved dragon scales onto a few pairs of Titanium Emerson CQC7 handles. I chose two different anodizing methods for them, one is electro-anodized an the other was heat anodized with a propane blowtorch. The torch method took some practice, my first round sucked because the parts had been previously anodized and stripped, so the surface wasn't clean enough. After scrubbing the surface with a scotchbrite wheel I got down to bare titanium and then they took a wicked color from the torch. Hope you like them, my customers certainly did!!
