Lathe lighting upgrade Media

Published: 9 years ago

I like to SEE what I'm doing, so having a lathe that's dark inside is no fun. I wanted to find a quick and dirty, cheap solution to get some good light in there. I'm a fan of LED lighting, but I've never tried these new cob style LED's. Google it, it's pretty neat. COB stands for Chip On Board, giving a much slimmer package. I got two little 12w strips from Ebay for $6! They come with double sided tape on the back and get wired to a 12v source (old cell phone charger works well). They're supposed to be waterproof, but I don't have high hopes for these lasting and staying stuck forever, but for now they're great. As a proof of concept, I like them a lot.

Enjoy!
