The new Demko Knives AD20 CXT (Compact X-tra Thick) will launch exclusively at The Ancient City Continental 2026 knife show in Orlando, Florida.
Andrew and John develop a new version of the beloved AD20 Compact. Demko Knives is no stranger to creating different versions of their best-selling, Pennsylvania-made knife models. Because Demko Knives' knife platforms are all designed and engineered in-house by Andrew Demko, and use Demko Knives' in-house proprietary locking mechanisms, they have tons of built-in adaptability and modularity.
Acknowledging the success of the AD20 XXX model, and faced with spare blade steel in the robust quarter-inch thickness, the Demko team decided to give the AD20 Compact the highly-demanded thick treatment. The barong-style blade is the perfect choice for the project because it allows a wider, taller canvas for John to aggressively grind a Performance First™ geometry. The blade needs to slice well in addition to having exceptionally robust strength. The barong blade also allows the design to gain additional blade length over past AD20 Compact models.
It's easy to make a thick knife. It's hard to make a thick knife well. The Demko brothers crushed this fun new project, staying true to the Demko Knives Performance First™ ethos.
