Andrew Demko and Robert "Bob" Terzuola sit down at BLADE Show 2026 to discuss the first project on the schedule for the new Demko Knives KNIFE-HEROES™ project.
Bob Terzuola is considered the originator of the tactical folding knife. With over 40 years of experience making tactical knives, Terzuola literally wrote the book on Tactical Knives in 2000. Terzuola pioneered many concepts within the knife industry that we take for granted today, including the application of pocket clips on custom knives, the application of the liner locks on production knives, and the philosophy of making a folding knife operable one-handed. Bob Terzuola can also claim a pivotal role in the success of then-fledgling industry giants like Spyderco Knives and Benchmade Knives. Knife-Heroes™ is an ongoing Demko Knives program through which Andrew Demko highlights key members of the knifemaking industry -- people he deems true "Knife Heroes." These individuals have reached legendary knifemaker status, introduced game-changing design and engineering, or otherwise changed the knife industry forever. Through the Demko Knives Knife-Heroes™ program, Andrew's goal is to pay his respects to true legends of the knife industry. Andrew knows that these lifelong works and stories need to be preserved and passed down to the younger generations of knifemakers and knife collectors. Demko Knives will work alongside these industry heavyweights to create different collaboration projects in the years to come.
