Demko Knives x Kiku Knives | KNIFE-HEROES™ Media
Published: 4 days ago
Andrew Demko debuts his new passion project called Knife-Heroes™. He sits down with world-renowned Japanese knife and sword maker, Kikuo Matsuda, to discuss the upcoming collaboration between Demko Knives and Kiku Knives.
Andrew has the utmost respect for Kikuo Matsuda and Kiku Knives. When Andrew started brainstorming his idea that would become Knife-Heroes™, Matsuda quickly came to mind. He lives in Seki City, Japan, the city known as Japan's "City of Swords" for over 700 years. Seki City has been at the center of Japan's legendary blade production, including meticulously-crafted Samurai swords, since the 13th century. Kikuo Matsuda carries on his city's legacy with over 40 years of experience in the trade. His knives and swords are sought after worldwide and are often hard to obtain.
Knife-Heroes™ is an ongoing Demko Knives program through which Andrew Demko highlights key members of the knifemaking industry -- people he deems true "Knife Heroes." These individuals have reached legendary knifemaker status, introduced game-changing design and engineering, or otherwise changed the knife industry forever. Through the Demko Knives Knife-Heroes™ program, Andrew's goal is to pay his respects to true legends of the knife industry. Andrew knows that these lifelong works and stories need to be preserved and passed down to the younger generations of knifemakers and knife collectors. Demko Knives will work alongside these industry heavyweights to create different collaboration projects in the years to come.
