Buffalo Horn Baby Doc | 2025 Vault Pattern Media

Published: 4 days ago

This Buffalo Horn-handled Baby Doc ('82SP) is a caseknives.com exclusive, available for only a very limited time! The Water Buffalo has been one of mankind's most useful resources for thousands of years, and the properties of Genuine Buffalo Horn make it a natural handle material choice for our fine knives. This pint-sized knife pattern was modeled after its larger-versioned cousin, the Doctor's Knife ('85SP).

The knife hearkens back to a time when doctors carried a knife like this in their medicine bags while conducting house calls. The Spear blade was used to cut sutures and bandages, while the unsharpened Spatula was used to count pills and mix medicines. The flat end bolster was used to crush pills into powders.

The Baby Doc pattern was named by the Case Collectors Club community at the Zippo/Case International Swap Meet in 2004 and was later introduced to the general public in January, 2005.

This model has several features that are synonymous with special site exclusives, like the 'XX' engraving on the pocket end and a flute line on the cap end bolster and our Case Long Tail "C" consecutive serialization on the main blade. The knife comes packaged in a velvet gift box that's wrapped with a branded outside sleeve. A printed Certificate of Authenticity is also included with your purchase of this knife to serve as a living record of this very unique offering.

Production of this knife is strictly limited to just 350 pieces, so be sure to pick up your Baby Doc from Case before it sells out or is returned to the Case Vault at year end!

This knife is constructed with Case Tru-Sharp™ stainless steel which is a special high-carbon steel that helps the blades hold an edge longer than conventional steel. It also offers extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance. Comes conveniently packaged in a box. Made in Bradford, PA, USA from domestic and imported materials.
