Comparing Shaves - Using A Standard Straight Razor - MURRAY CARTER Media

Published: 13 years ago

In this continuation of Murray Carter's shaving series, you will enjoy watching Murray Carter shave his face with a rather notable straight razor made in Solingen, Germany. Interestingly, the task-specific blade did not do as well of a job shaving as the steel in Murray's other shaving YouTube entries, which include shaving with a Japanese camp knife, a Japanese machete and a pair of Japanese scissors. Murray said his face burned for several hours after the shave.

Learn the basic techniques of how to sharpen one of Murray's creations so that you, too, will be able to even shave with it.

We have two DVDs which offer a comprehensive guide to sharpening in which Murray, a Master Bladesmith and the owner of Carter Cutlery, explains what you need to become an expert at sharpening knives. With this knowledge and a little practice, you will soon be able to make a knife sharp enough you can even shave with it.
