light chopper Media

This is the new light chopper in an optimized CPM 3V. It's designed somewhere between a camp knife and a small machete and intended to be light enough to carry on a hike or while camping, but deliver "big knife" performance when called upon.
10" blade, 16" overall length. 3/16" thick. 17 ounces.
The heat treat for 3V has been tweaked for this application and the performance is truly phenomenal. It's very tough and it holds an edge well in both abrasive materials and in rough use without being chippy or mushy.
At the end of the video I bend the knife to 90 degrees. It's 3/16" material, so that really isn't a big deal, but the yield point is high enough that it took a lot of force on a 44" cheater bar to bend it to 90 degrees and when the force was removed it went back mostly straight.
