Welding Dump Trailer Door Hinge - Reinforced With Angle Iron For More Surface Area Media
Published: 3 years ago
Looking for ideas to reinforce thin tubing to make a welding repair? This video may help. I used 1/8" Angle Iron to create more surface area for this hinge repair and did not make my welds straight across the old tubing to really spread the load.
I am not a professional welder, I do more machining than welding, so this video is meant for anyone looking for new ideas for their small welding jobs and home repair. Hobby Welder or beginner welder no problem we can all learn from each other. I had input from Hobby-Machinist.com Forum and the Reddit Welding Forum to help me figure out the best way to make this repair.
This welding was done with a Lincoln 180C Mig Welder using .035" Fluxcore Wire.
Thanks for watching!
