Jet JMD18 Mill Drill Project - Headboard Brackets Cutting Unique Slots Media
Published: 3 years ago
Fun milling machine project on my Jet JMD18 Mill Drill. Seemed simple enough to take plastic angle brackets for a headboard and make them out of 2x2x1/8" Angle Iron, but there were some good challenges along the way.
Figuring out the math for the slots was good practice and this was a great project to leverage the Newell 700 DRO on my mill and cut an oversize slot with a 3/8" Garr Carbide end mill. Using the slitting saw to quickly get rid of 1.25" of Angle Iron also worked even better than I expected it would.
