Triple"B"S Knife Lock Build Series - Part 3 - File Cuts, Hand Ground Bevels & Heat Treat Media

Published: 3 years ago

Cutting custom file cuts on knife tang and hollow grinding bevels on a knife blade all by hand for this Triple"B"S Knife Lock Patent No. US 10,981,283. For my file cuts I don't use any layout method and for my bevels I don't use any jigs, just total freehand bevel grinding for that truly one of a kind knife.

If you are looking for something different than the standard Frame Lock or Liner Lock folding knife designs, check out this new Triple"B"S knife lock to add variety to the folding knife locking mechanisms available today. I am taking this design from prototype to production with my new Tormach 1100MX CNC Mill. This third video in the series goes through the manual work on the blade including finishing the profile, adding my signature file cuts, hand grinding the bevels and heat treating the blade. The blade is CPM154 Stainless and the Handle Slabs are 6AL4V Grade 5 Titanium.

The Triple"B"S Lock Mechanism - short for Bud Beets Ball Slide - is my own design and is available for lease or other licensing agreement. TripleBS Knife Lock
