Worst CNC Day Yet - Eventually Got Some Parts Done! Media
Published: 2 years ago
Crashed my Tormach 1100MX CNC Mill. Made several programming errors, and really struggled to complete this seemingly simple part. Eventually got this pallet complete and was able to finish several knife parts using my Pierson Pro Pallet set up and this customer pallet topper.
I am at that point in my CNC journey where I think I know what I am doing and clearly going to fast and made several unnecessary mistakes on this part. I need too slow down and do a better job double checking my work. This crash resulted from not accounting for tool length and length of cut (LOC) in my tool selection.
In this video I also grind some titanium which can be dangerous since titanium is so flammable. I also design and use a pallet that uses standard knife hardware to secure my knife handle slabs to a pallet to take finish cuts and finish the outer contours on these handle slabs.
Please check out the rest of my channel for machining, welding, fusion 360 and knife making videos.
In addition to my Tormach 1100MX, I also have a Precision Matthews 1440TL Lathe and a Jet JMD18 Mill Drill.
Thanks for watching!
