Mirror Polish MK 3 Media
Published: 1 week ago
Every year or three I get a wild hair up my butt and decide to do a mirror polished blade finish... Maybe its the phase of the moon, or I think I have a better idea about how to do it, or maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment....
Anyhow, for what ever reason, I felt compelled to do one on the first of its kind listed here. It took me forever. It also took five times the abrasives of a regular satin finish blade, around 3/4 pounds of polishing compound, and some patience I didn't realize I had rattling around somewhere deep inside of me, but it is, hands down, the best mirror polish I have ever done to date.
Do you think it's worth the trouble?
PS - I swore I'd never wear gloves in a knife photo/video demo (no hate, just personal preference) but I had to break down on this one and I STILL got a small amount of shmutz on the blade, show side under the thumbstud, lol.
All photos and video are unaltered and are just natural outdoor light on an overcast Mississippi winter day.
